Kavieng Port (above) is the main port for the New Ireland province of Papua New Guinea. Kavieng is a tropical
paradise known for both its natural diving sites and wrecks dating from the Second World War.

Wharf Facilities

Crane
There are no crane mounted however, mobile cranes are available
capable of lifting up to twenty (20) tonne containers. Shippers are advised though to check this before shipping heavier loads. Prior advice and approval must be sought from the relevant Port Authority.

Storage Area
Under cover storage 750sq.m
Open storage 3,000sq.m.

Bunk Provider
Diesel available by road tanker and by pipe line at Berth 1.
Suppliers: InterOil and Islands Petroleum.

Water Provider
Available in limited quantities provided prior application is
made to the Business Manager.

Waste Disposal
No waste disposal facility is available. Arrangement for
disposal can also be done with the Shipping Agents and
National Agriculture and Quarantine Inspection Authority
(NAQIA).

The above mentioned facilities are not available. Further clarification and advice on the mentioned facilities must be obtained from the Executive Manager (Operations) or the respective Port Manager prior to any shipment.

The Port handles bulk cargoes, tanker, heavy lift and passengers.
